How We Started

More Than a
Car Service

The PalanQuin was born from a simple frustration — travelling around Northeast India was extraordinary, but finding reliable, professional car hire was not. We knew the region, we loved the roads, and we believed guests deserved better.

Starting in 2022 with a single Innova and a commitment to genuine hospitality, we have grown into Guwahati's most trusted car rental service — serving hundreds of guests, corporate clients, and travellers exploring all seven sisters of the Northeast.

Our name, The PalanQuin, is a nod to the palanquin — a traditional mode of dignified, comfortable travel carried by those who took their responsibility to the passenger seriously. That spirit lives in everything we do.

We are a small team, and we intend to stay that way. Every booking is personal. Every guest matters. Every journey is an opportunity to show Northeast India at its very best.

How do I make a booking? +
You can book via the Quick Booking form on our homepage, or by calling us at +91 600 37 47 123, +91 70029 32645, +91 97066 82446, or by messaging us on WhatsApp. We confirm all bookings within 30 minutes during business hours.
Are all your prices inclusive of fuel? +
Yes — fuel is included in all our quoted prices. Toll charges and parking are billed separately on actuals.
Do you offer airport pickup at night? +
Yes, we are available 24/7 including late-night and early-morning airport transfers. A small night surcharge (between 11 PM and 5 AM) may apply. We track your flight status and adjust for any delays.
How far in advance should I book? +
For local and airport transfers, 12–24 hours in advance is ideal. For outstation trips and holiday packages, we recommend booking at least 3–5 days ahead to ensure your preferred vehicle is available.
Do your drivers speak English? +
Our drivers communicate in Hindi, Assamese, and basic English. For guests who prefer an English-speaking driver, please mention this at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate.
What is your cancellation policy? +
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the pickup time are free of charge. Cancellations within 24 hours may attract a 25% charge. For multi-day trips, cancellation charges vary — please ask us for details at the time of booking.
Can I hire a car for travel to Meghalaya, Arunachal, and other states? +
Absolutely. Our vehicles are registered for inter-state travel. For restricted areas like Arunachal Pradesh, we also assist with Inner Line Permit (ILP) documentation guidance.
Do you offer corporate billing and GST invoices? +
Yes. We provide GST-compliant invoices for all bookings and have existing arrangements with several corporates for monthly billing. Contact us to set up a corporate account.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept cash, UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), and bank transfers. For corporate accounts, invoice-based monthly payments are available. Advance payment may be required for long outstation trips.
